How are users charged for messages?

Pay per message only if the creator replies within 2 days

You will only be charged per message if you receive a reply within 2 days. You can send messages back and forth, and each time you'll only be charged if you receive a reply in time.

Same price for each message type

Text, image, voice, and video messages are all charged at the same price. (Note: Some creators may have certain message types disabled.)

Longer text messages are priced higher

You can send unlimited-length messages, but longer text messages will be priced higher based on the number of characters you send. This helps make sure creators are incentivized to read and respond to long messages, as well as short ones.

For instance, if a creator has a price of $2.00 per message and a soft limit of 250 characters, your message will be priced as:

  • Up to 250 characters = $2.00
  • 251-500 characters = $4.00
  • 501-750 characters = $6.00
  • And so on

This only applies to the length of your sent message. You won’t be charged extra if creators send a long reply.

Sending long voice messages is the same idea

For instance, if a creator has a price of $2.00 per message and a soft limit of 1 minute for voice messages, your message will be priced as:

  • Up to 1 minute = $2.00
  • 1-2 minutes = $4.00
  • 2-3 minutes = $6.00
  • And so on

Again, this only applies to the length of your sent message. You won’t be charged extra if creators send a long reply.


It starts with a temporary hold on your card (don't worry, it's temporary)

If the creator you’re speaking to charges for messages, when you start a new message session, we place a temporary hold on your payment method - either in the amount of 1, 10, or 30 messages, depending on the creator. (For instance, if the creator charges $2.00/message, a temporary hold of $60.00 may be placed on your card.)

Some of your payments may be combined

If you send and receive several messages over a few days, we may combine them into a single charge on your bank statement. We’ll provide you with a receipt.

What if you send multiple messages in a row?

If you send multiple messages in a row, you will be charged for each message, only if the creator replies within 2 days.

What if you receive multiple messages in a row from a creator?

If you receive multiple messages in a row from a creator, that counts as only one reply, and there is no extra charge. 😊
